Honorees and Special Guests
"Human Trafficking" Luncheon
On Saturday, April 6, 2013, we will be hosting a luncheon featuring Kat Rohrer. Ms. Rohrer is the director and producer of "Fatal Promises," a documentary about domestic and international human trafficking. A native of Vienna, Austria, Ms. Rohrer will also be presented with an award during the luncheon. The luncheon will include a Q&A session.

Human trafficking domestically and abroad is a serious topic in today's culture, and is an even bigger topic among women activists. Don't miss this opportunity to become enlightened about this issue!
​In April 2011, National Stop the Violence Alliance, Inc. and the Celebration of Hope Gala Committee were honored to present  the bust of the late Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy. In 2013, we will be doing it again!

The Celebration of Hope Gala, which will be held on April 6, 2013, will showcase the unveiling of the busts for MONUMENTAL icons:  the late Rosa Parks and Congressman John Lewis!

In addition to the unveiling of the busts for Mrs. Parks and Congressman Lewis, Dr. Bertha M. Roddey, 20th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will also be receiving a bust.

​Other special guests and honorees include: Aesha Mohammadzai, international survivor of violence; Hill Harper, actor and author; Sonia Sanchez, poet and activist; Carolyn House Stewart, 28th International President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; Steven Goldstein, Chair of Garden State Equality; and a host of other members of law, law enforcement, education, politics, and community service!
